Advertising on here
Greetings fellow writers!
We have been thinking about this for a while, and have decided that we would like to offer an advertising opportunity on the SFFS blog. This will take three forms, as we realise that not everyone who participates in the ring is a published author.
It would be useful for all authors who have new releases or existing publications to do mini bios first, as we can then link to them when posting about a new release or existing publication.
Disclaimers:
We have been thinking about this for a while, and have decided that we would like to offer an advertising opportunity on the SFFS blog. This will take three forms, as we realise that not everyone who participates in the ring is a published author.
- Mini bio - this will be in the form of pre-drafted interview questions (a "getting to know you" exercise), accompanied by your own personal bio and connectivity links. Your photograph will be required.
- New releases - if you have just had a book published, let us know about it! For this, a cover image and the book's blurb are required.
- Existing publications - for those authors who have already published, we will accept up to three books for the blog. Again, this will require a cover image and the book's blurb.
It would be useful for all authors who have new releases or existing publications to do mini bios first, as we can then link to them when posting about a new release or existing publication.
Disclaimers:
- All advertising blog posts will go live on a Sunday, and will be on a first come first posted basis. Priority will be given, however, to new releases, so as to post as close to their release date as possible.
- Every blog post will find its way onto a relevant page on the blog, so that all posts will be easily accessible.
- Only open to writers who have participated in at least five rounds.

Change of Play
Good morning!
As promised, things have changed. We no longer have 'rules'. There are now guidelines, and we ask that everyone gives them a read through before posting in this next week. Please find the Guidelines tab next to the Home tab at the top of the blog.
We hope that everyone likes the changes, and look forward to what they may bring.

SFFS 28/05/2011
Good day all! Welcome to the first round of SFFS.
For those who are new to this, SFFS is a ring of authors who share snippets of their work once a week. Any writer can join in (and please do!), so long as you stick to the rules: keep it to six sentences; keep it accessible to all ages.
The point of this is: share bits of your work and read what others have written. Comments on other snippets are always very welcome, but should be kept constructive.
Any project has to start somewhere, so do enjoy the two snippets that have been shared this week.

Welcome to SFFS
Welcome to the launch of SFFS.
The purpose of this ring is to provide speculative fiction authors with a forum for sharing snippets of their work. No-one should feel any obligation to participate every week, though all and any comments on contributors' posts are very welcome.
The first list will open for signups from 12:00 PM BST on the 25th May (Wednesday), via the next blog post. All of the blog posts will need to be live on your blogs by 6:00 AM BST on the 28th for checking. The signup list will close at this time as well, so no more signups will be possible after this time. The final list of links will be made live at 12:00 PM BST on the 28th.
