Cary Caffrey

Who are you? Cary Caffrey.

What genre/s do you write in? Science-Fiction.

Why do you write? I got into books at a crazy early age - before I could even read on my own. Some of my earliest memories are of books; they've always been a huge part of my life. Writing just seemed like one of those inevitable things that you know you're going to do. I started writing at a very early age too; lots of crazy stories. It's always been about having fun, for me. Even if I'm approaching it professionally, I figure, if I'm not having a lot of fun writing something, how can I expect people to have fun reading it.

Planner or Pantser? I was trained as a planner, but I'm happiest as a pantser. I believe it's that silly, blissfully-ignortant, unconscious part of ourselves (the part that doesn't spend all its time worrying and fretting about what people think) that's responsible for the really inspired stuff. I make a point of keeping my inner-critic/planner locked up in the basement while I'm banging out the first drafts. Once the early work is done, I let that critic out (and, oh my goodness, he is merciless!), and then he takes care of creating order from the chaos.

Where can we find you? I live in Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada. You can stalk me there, or online via carycaffrey.com or @CaryCaffrey on Twitter.

Upcoming releases? The Girls From Alcyone II. I'm in the draft stage now, aiming for a June release.

Latest release? The Girls From Alcyone available from amazon.com.

Personal Bio: Voracious reader of sixties-pulp Sci-Fi, self-confessed Trekkie and massive BtSV fan.

The Girls from Alcyone - by Cary Caffrey

Sigrid and Suko are two girls from the impoverished and crime-infested streets of 24th century Earth. Sold into slavery to save their families from financial ruin, the girls are forced to live out their lives in service to the Kimura Corporation, a prestigious mercenary clan with a lineage stretching back long before the formation of the Federated Corporations.

Known only to Kimura, the two girls share startling secret—a rare genetic structure not found in tens of millions of other girls.

But when their secret becomes known, Sigrid and Suko quickly find themselves at the center of a struggle for power. Now, hunted by men who would seek to control them, Sigrid and Suko are forced to fight for their own survival, and for the freedom of the girls from Alcyone.

A scifi romance, available on amazon.com.
