Who are you? Patrick Stutzman. I'm so glad you're not a Vorlon asking me that. What genre/s do you write in? Science fiction, but I've done a little science fantasy and space opera.
Why do you write? I've been creating my own stories since I was very young. I've also been an avid reader for most of my life. Combining the two to share my stories with the rest of the world felt like a natural step to take.
Planner or Pantser? Both. I create a basic outline listing the major plot points I want to reach in the story. I fill in the blanks as I write. Sometimes, my characters take some unexpected turns, and it can be quite a task to get them pointed back toward the story's next milestone.
Where can we find you? You can easily find me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and my website, The Worlds of Patrick Stutzman.
Latest Release? The last book I released was the third volume in the Chronicles of Anna Foster series titled Alone in the Crowd. It is available through Amazon for the Kindle and in paperback.
Previous releases? The first two books of Anna Foster's story, Alone on the Edge and Alone in Paradise, are my previous releases. They are also available through Amazon for the Kindle and in paperback. I also have a short story, more like a deleted chapter from Edge, titled Alone with her Thoughts that is (you guessed it) available through Amazon but only for the Kindle. Unlike the others, Thoughts is available for free through BN.com for the Nook and Smashwords for other e-reader formats.
What are you working on now? Right now, I have Book 4 of Anna's story partially done. But, that is currently on hold while I write the first book of a new series set in Anna's universe that focuses on a different character with her own story.
Personal Bio: Patrick has always enjoyed writing and literature, even during those long, laborious essays required throughout his education. Evidence of his desire for writing came about in the fifth grade, when he wrote and directed a play for his class.
In 2005, Patrick made the pilgrimage to Gen Con and succeeded in joining the freelance game designer pool for Wizards of the Coast. Under the leadership of Rodney Thompson, Patrick worked for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, Saga Edition product line. His credits include a total of 5 books, including the award-winning The Clone Wars Campaign Guide, both official Gen Con adventures for the Saga Edition rules, and several articles for Wizards’ Star Wars RPG website. After Patrick finished his work on what would be the last book in the Star Wars RPG product line in 2009, he turned his attention to his own projects, resulting in his first novel series titled The Chronicles of Anna Foster and several short stories.
Patrick is a self-proclaimed geek and is not ashamed of his love for science fiction and fantasy, games, and modern & future technology. He lives in Missouri with his wife, two children, a veritable menagerie of pets, and an annoying Force spirit that follows him wherever he goes. If you have any suggestions on how to get rid of the Force spirit, please let him know.
