NOTE: Too many people have been ignoring the restriction on the length of snippets in recent weeks. The limit was set for a reason, and that reason still applies. Proposed Amazon Tagging Party

There has been some interest in holding an Amazon tagging party, so I thought I'd sound you out on it. Some of you might know that I'm currently responsible for organising tagging for the SFR Brigade.

Suggestions:

1.As far as I'm aware, most of us don't have a vast list of titles to our names (and I'm already fully committed to several blogs and volunteer duties to the Brigade) so I don't currently see a need for weekly parties. Also, once you've tagged a title I don't think you can tag it again - please feel free to put me right on that if you know - so unless new tags are added (you can only agree with a maximum of 15 tags BTW), there's no advantage to repeatedly entering a title for tagging. So I'm thinking of either one massive tag party, or perhaps at most a monthly party. I think the best bet might be quartely to cover new releases or, if we have the massive tag party, to perhaps then hold a tagging party each time one of us has a new release. Thoughts?

2.Titles on Amazon US and Amazon UK will be eligible. However, you can only tag titles on an Amazon site you have bought from. So, for example, peeps who only buy from Amazon.com will not be able to tag titles on Amazon.co.uk. All formats will also be eligible. If the consensus is for monthly tagging parties, I think all authors should be eligible to enter one title each, but then enter one title every month and therefore covering eBook and print versions of their title. Does that make sense?

3.The sign up will be done as a page to keep it somewhere easy to find and leave the blog free for the weekly sffsat sign ups and featured publications. However, I am thinking that the tag party itself should be done as a post, maybe the first/last Monday of each month.

4.I can't promise how soon I can get this set up. With the Brigade parties, the Midsummer blog hop, and a distinct lack of writing time I may not get one set up until July. If someone wants to set something sooner, maybe less formally, please feel free to do so. You can always post something on the blog via the comments. :)
